Do you love a shady forest walk next to a babbling brook? We do too! Join community tree and stream enthusiasts along the Wolf Run Creek at Gardenside Park for an informative and interactive presentation about the benefits of trees and other plants in our community and along our waterways. Participants will learn about the role of trees in water quality, enjoy an all-ages scavenger hunt for native trees and perennials (with prizes!), and even plant a few new trees along the streambank. Participants will also receive complimentary copies of both the Central Kentucky Backyard Stream Guide and Streamside Buffer Zones for at home implementation and learn about volunteer opportunities in your “neck of the woods”. See you at the creek!
Speakers:
Katherine Bullock, University of Kentucky, Forestry & Natural Resources Extension
Kristine Goggin, Gardenside Park Stream Steward
