Join Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves (OKNP) biologists Jason Nally and Ted Brancheau on Friday Oct. 18th from 9:30am – 12:00pm for a Tree ID Walk at the Tom Dorman State Nature Preserve (also known as Kentucky River Palisades SNP). This event is a part of the Lexington Tree Week and is family friendly. Tom Dorman SNP is one of the largest protected natural areas in the Kentucky River Palisades region. Participants will follow along the 2-mile hiking trail through the forest to the Kentucky River, and back out. Moderate to difficult hiking with a steep hill to start off the hike. Directions: From Lexington, follow Rt. 27 south for approximately 20 miles. Immediately after crossing the Kentucky River into Garrard County, turn right into the Parking lot marked with a brown Nature Preserve sign.
Dogs are not allowed on State Nature Preserves.
